Recorded at Hourglass Studios in Wilmington, NC with Producer Trent Harrison
Songwriter Delia Stanley’s new single, Onward, is an empowerment
anthem about acknowledging difficulty, finding our chosen families,
and recreating our world. Inspired by a history of change following
chaos, Onward speaks to our current political climate and those
working to actualize a more equal and supportive society. She gathered
a group of local musicians she calls “Delia & Friends”- John
Hussmann, Chris Marcellus, JJ Street and Cathy Street- to record the
song at Wilmington’s own Hourglass Studios. Onward will be released on Bandcamp and all streaming services on October 2nd, with an online
release that includes Onward Action Week, a series of conversations
and activities around local and nation issues via social media. The
single artwork was also created by Delia, a reference to our moral
compass. "I think what music and art lends to activism is imagination,
connecting with creative thought,” Delia says. “It’s been hard to stay
hopeful this year, but we have opportunities now to listen, hear what
is needed, and bring a better world into being- we don’t have to
follow old ways of thinking and doing things.” Delia will also be
playing live at Flytrap Brewing on October 2nd, 6-9, with stickers and
download codes for purchase; a portion of the sales will go to local
non-profit organizations. You can find out more at
